Making Haselbury Plucknett's Footpaths Safer

We are the lead farm in Haselbury Plucknett and as contributors to the village traffic, we are concerned about the lack of footpaths in the village and the obvious risks posed to pedestrians.

Bakers Farms have initiated a project which removes pedestrians from the virtual footpath to a hard surfaced footpath which runs entirely through the farms property. The route of this footpath is largely along a public right of way but the surface needs to be upgraded to make it accessible for all types of pedestrians including pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Bakers Farms propose to undertake the construction of this footpath using existing man power and equipment but the materials needed for construction have been calculated at £20.000.

What are the main aims and objectives of the organisation?

  • To improve the safety of pedestrians.

  • To create an alternative pedestrian route from the virtual footpath.

  • To reduce the risks to children walking to and from school.

If you would like to find out more about the project or can spare some money we would love you to put it towards this great cause. Please see below Gofundmepage link.

In December 2024 our Forage team put together a Christmas themed tractor run to raise money for the Making Haselbury Plucknett’s Footpaths safer fund. They battled storm Darragh and raised £1000 towards the fund! Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and a special thank you to our Forage team for bringing us some Christmas cheer during a gloomy December evening!
