Forage Team Member
What do you enjoy most about working for FAW Bakers Farms?
The day-to-day variety of work across all four seasons, accompanied by some of the most loyal, hardworking and talented colleagues within our department that you could wish for. They tend to provide relentless banter within our team - which has the ability to test everyone's sense of humour to the limit, but never over!
What's your favourite part of your role?
I have two favourite roles. The first being the person responsible for planting the crop either in the autumn or the spring and watching it grow full term to harvest, which is normally extremely rewarding. The second is in the office analysing anything from yields to fixed & variable costs and comparing growing strategy data to help focus on our continual aim to provide cost effective forage to the dairy.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining the team?
It would be their chance to become part of a fast growing, yet dedicated team that focus on sustainable and efficient mixed farming in a friendly environment. Every day there are learning opportunities no matter which department you work with. There are always opportunities to voice your opinion to your department manager and be part of a collaborative approach to every job that gets completed.

What's your favourite part of your role?
I have a variety of job roles ! But I’d say one of my favourites is harvesting the crops we have watched grow all year ! Or carrying out the maintenance on our machines ensuring they’re fit for work
